VantaShell Terms of Service

Read the terms that govern VantaShell accounts, subscriptions, licenses, downloads, and acceptable use.

1. Agreement to These Terms

By creating an account, downloading VantaShell, starting a subscription, or using the website, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you use VantaShell for a company or team, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms for that organization.

If you do not agree with these terms, do not use the service, create an account, or download the app.

2. Accounts and Eligibility

You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your login credentials secure. You must notify us if you believe your account, license, or device activation has been compromised.

You may not create accounts or use VantaShell in a way that bypasses security controls, licensing limits, sanctions restrictions, export rules, or applicable law.

3. Subscriptions, Billing, and Renewals

Paid plans are billed through the checkout flow shown at purchase. Monthly, six-month, and annual subscriptions may renew automatically unless canceled before the renewal date.

Prices, plan limits, and included features may change over time. If a change materially affects an active paid plan, we will make reasonable efforts to give notice before the change applies.

4. Promotional Credits and Rewards

Promotional credits, rewards, discounts, referral bonuses, beta rewards, and free plan time are discretionary program benefits. They are non-transferable, have no cash value, may not be sold, and do not create a right to payment, refund, exchange, or continued availability.

Rewards may require account eligibility, real product activation, referral validation, staff review, or compliance with published program rules. VantaShell may adjust, decline, revoke, suspend, or discontinue promotional credits or rewards in cases of abuse, fraud, duplicate accounts, self-referrals, misleading activity, policy violations, or program changes.

5. License and App Use

Subject to these terms and your active plan, VantaShell grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the macOS app for your own development, operations, administration, or team workflows.

You may not copy, resell, sublicense, reverse engineer, interfere with, or attempt to extract source code from VantaShell except where applicable law gives you a non-waivable right to do so.

6. Acceptable Use

VantaShell is designed for legitimate SSH, SFTP, tunnel, automation, and local-first assistance workflows. You are responsible for the systems you connect to and the commands you run.

You must not use VantaShell to access systems without authorization, disrupt services, distribute malware, harvest secrets, violate others' rights, or run activity that is illegal or abusive.

7. Security and Customer Data

You are responsible for managing SSH keys, passwords, host records, snippets, scripts, and any operational data you enter into the app. Keep backups and access controls appropriate for your environment.

VantaShell is built around local-first workflows, but account, license, billing, support, and update systems may process the information needed to operate those services.

8. AI and Automation Features

AI Safe Local and automation features are assistive tools. You are responsible for reviewing generated explanations, commands, scripts, summaries, and recommendations before using them on any system.

Do not submit secrets, regulated data, or sensitive production context to external providers unless your organization has approved that use.

9. Beta Features and Availability

Some releases, channels, and features may be beta, experimental, incomplete, or subject to change. We may add, modify, pause, or remove features as the product develops.

We aim to keep the website, account system, downloads, and update feeds available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

10. Intellectual Property

VantaShell, including its software, website, branding, visual design, documentation, and related materials, is owned by VantaShell or its licensors.

You keep ownership of your own content, host details, support messages, feedback, and operational materials. If you send feedback, you allow us to use it to improve VantaShell without owing compensation.

11. Third-Party Services

VantaShell may rely on third-party services for payments, email delivery, hosting, analytics, support, or update distribution. Those services may have their own terms and privacy practices.

We are not responsible for third-party systems outside our control, but we choose service providers that are appropriate for operating the product.

12. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if an account violates these terms, creates security risk, causes harm, or is required by law. You may stop using VantaShell at any time and may cancel paid subscriptions through the billing tools provided.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including payment obligations, intellectual property, disclaimers, limits of liability, and dispute terms, continue to apply.

13. Disclaimers and Liability

VantaShell is provided as available and without warranties that are not expressly stated in these terms. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, VantaShell will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost business, or service interruption.

14. Changes and Contact

We may update these terms as the product, plans, laws, or business operations change. The updated version will show a new last updated date.

Questions about these terms, billing, privacy, or account access can be sent through the contact page.
